Quintessentially Art Deco Ring

Quintessentially Art Deco - Diamond & Emerald Ring

Florid & fiery - In every detail of this antique ring you can feel the pulse of the early part of the 19th century. Touches of diamonds that resemble the tips of flames dot the outer edges. Leaf forms of silver are set with twenty-four (24) old European and old mine cut diamonds. The perfect foil to dazzling larger diamonds. And each is set with bead tipping within silver topped gold.

Crisp geometry follows in the form of an attenuated diamond shape set with eighteen (18) emeralds - all except two are calibre or French cut. The ends are cut in an arrow head form to match the points of the diamond motif. The emeralds are set within a thin fretwork of gold. Set with three (3) additional glorious diamonds, the interior shimmers with two .03 carat diamonds and one superb .40 carat gem. The cardinal points burst forth with the top and bottom diamonds of .20 carats each and the sides are set with .15 and .13 carats each. It is said that old cut diamonds do not often match the perfection of modern diamonds but their great inner life cannot be matched. On each side of the band are two old mine cut diamonds that complete the landscape. With beacons of radiance this ring simply leaps off the finger and appears alive.

Hand crafted, the ring’s workmanship is of the highest quality. Turning a ring over tells much of the story. Poor quality shows up quickly - as does fine work. Each gem is set in an open back and each frame for the gems is finely azured (filed and prepared cleanly). This is often where the jewelry itself tells the total truth. When an exceptional piece is being constructed jewelers always take the time to address all aspects of the piece

Measuring just less than 1-1/8 inches long (2.7 cm) by over 5/8 of an inch wide (1.7 cm) from larger side diamond to larger side diamond (not including the small side accent diamonds).

Size: US 8- ¼ (UK Q; Euro 18.25) but let our jewelers size this for you.

Condition is excellent; light wear to the band and the top diamond has a tiny chip on the left side visible with a loupe.

Total carat weight is approximately 1.40 carats in a mount composed of silver topped 15k gold; hallmarked with a small A and another mark is indiscernible. Arrives in a push button antique ring box marked “E. Schürmann & Co. Paul Tübben Hof-Juweliere Frankfurt a. Main”. Circa 1910-1915 and Continental in origin.
