Here's mine for the day, part of a series I just started yesterday. I'm photographing Starbucks cups that are used and naming the photos by the name of the person's cup. Let me know what you guys think, I'll post more throughout the days.

Yeah, all this "Boycott Wal-Mart" talk rocks. I work for Target, so come on in guys and gals!
I totally agree. Target is sooo much better than WM. I would rather pay the extra .50 or $1 more to go to Target. Cleaner stores, nicer people, and they don't have that funny smell that WM has. And they don't want to price everyone out of business, except maybe WM. That would be great.

There's a Go7300 though :p
Although... I'd rather see a Go 7600 or Mobile x1800 in the MBPs...
Despite the name, the GeForce 7300GT is actually a variant of the 7600 series. The GO7300 is based off the entry level 7000 series.
Interestingly the formerly complete Mac family now has a new member in the form of the 24 iMac. Be interesting to see how 'complete' the Macbook family was now...
God willing with lower prices and a GMA 15".

You maybe didn't read my post properly. I said I spotted that 6.0.5 could do this but I still don't know how. Whenever I select a different set of speakers it swaps to the new set. Do you need to press a modifier key or something? (Can't test just now because one of my AEs is elsewhere).
The v7 interface chugs a bit on my 1.25 GHz PBG4. I think the interface has too many dark shades. What's with the black highlight in the sidebar?
Oh, sorry, I must have read it wrong. I'm not at home right now either but I know I can do it on my setup at home. It's just always worked but I can't recall exaclty what the menu looks like right now. I think there is a "multiple speakers" option in the drop down box for selecting where to stream. If you select that it will bring up a box with check boxes next to each set of spearks available and if you select them all it plays to them all. I'll double check when I get home.

...finally...
Apple has dropped the ball here. Now that most laptops ship with the same chips, Apple can't claim the "Mhz Myth" or anything like that. They will have to keep up to speed, no pun intended.
dude, the operating system is better. it isnt just the cpu.

It is. Got mine yesterday. It looks fab, but above all it sounds like my old ( and broken) shuffle. And that's good. No, it's excellent.
Yeah, the sound is GREAT. It seems to have better sound than my previous iPods. (2nd Gen. mini, 4th and 5th Gen. iPod)

I checked out the 3DS at a Target and felt the 3D effect was cheesy. It reminded me of a magic eye effect, or a hologram baseball card. I did read about the "sweet spot", but that seems really tedious to have to keep a handheld at just the right angle at all times.
Those kiosks are low so that kids can play with them - much harder for adults to use it.
I got to try one out not on a display and it was great - especially the AR games are lots of fun...
You can turn the 3D off and the graphics and screen quality are still great.

Seems weird that a hardware problem is being solved by a software fix?
How can a firmware update stop a wire shorting the circuit?

We bought seven MacBooks shortly after they were released and three of them started having problems (random shutdown) almost immediately. When the third one started acting up I called our vendor to ask if there were any know problems. It was obvious that they had answered that question before it came from me (and interesting that they never mentioned it when I sent in the first two). We sent all three of them back to Apple for new motherboards, no cost and no questions. The down side is that the kept each machine for 10 business days because of their backlog.

That looks great, and would be fine for touch-input (if it has wrist-wrests); but that's a horrible angle for a screen: you'd have to crouch over it to use it.
It's actually the screen they will use for all old people who have droopy heads...
Regardless, here's hoping that tomorrow they release an iMac refresh to cover up some of the death grip publicity of the iFailphone 4.

Microsoft surely want to go for the easy-to-use appeal, but with just so many upgrade options, people are going to be confused from the onset.
I think you're right about that - it even gave me a headache trying to decide between XP Home and XP Pro when I was considering bootcamping my PC, and I'm an experienced user who's used every version of Windows except for 98, Me and MCE.
In the end I decided to wait for VMWare and get an image from work ... I only need Windows for to check my code on it and don't need it to be really fast.

I also doubt we'll be seeing a phone, but anything's possible with Apple.
Nobody was really expecting this (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=500), remember?
Reading some of the posts on that thread are hilarious!! "lame" "it won't sell" blah blah...
But yeah, no big deal about this banner as it does not show anything

steve is right, the basic thing is the ipod works well, and it is very simple to use. Itunes helps everything by being a first class program that is always getting frequent updates.
only thing is, apple needs to let record labels/artists come up with variable pricing.
so catalog albums will cost less, and labels can get money from singles.

it's not all that expensive considering Apple has release three OS upgrades since XP came out at least. If you add those together it is more expensive than Vista. That's how you have to look at it

hey, they have to find a way to recover all of under-productive years of the os's development. :D

Augh, I was hoping they would redesign the G5 case. Its been 3 years!! Cmon apple, stop milking old designs. I think this is the first time that Apple hasnt changed the look of the case when going to a new processor (theyve even changed cases when NOT changing processors...)
lazy
Remember the beige G3's? When Jobs first came back, he put the 233 G3's into the same beige boxes the old 604's were in so that they could be released sooner.

Yeah, the point just flew right above your head. Just like 99% of the posters on this thread. This is not about others "reviewing" our apps. It is about the process itself. Do you know that Trillian (yep, the messenger) has been in review for 2 months now without a word from Apple?
Spending time, money, and effort working on an App, submitting it then sitting not knowing what is going to happen or when you are going to hear back from them is ridiculous. Assuming after waiting 3 weeks, they found a bug in your app. You know what happens? Even if you can fix the bug in 1 min? You are sent to the back of the queue for another 3 weeks. That is almost 2 months to get your app to the store. I know some dude who had his app approved after 4 months. A complete joke!
This developer that you are joking about worked on Firefox (yeah, that's right!) and firebug (one of the best FF extensions EVER).
You guys are funny.
I get the point. Really.
He might be a great developer - but his app crashes consistently for me.
He is philosophically opposed to the process. Tough. QA takes time.
I don't get to write and deploy code - I watch it go through committees and batteries of tests. Reviews are part of life - even within Firefox I'm sure Mozilla reviews code.
He should test it before sending it in. No loops that way.
To me he is a whiner.

My daughter needs to use a Mac for school work, but I simply cannot justify the $1k plus expense for a bottom of the line Mac Book.
I used to think the same way. 2 kids off to college, money is tight but I gave them each their choice of laptops:
1.) kid#1 chose a Dell because she <gasp> liked Vista
2.) kid#2 chose the plain old white macbook
3 years later, guess which one is currently crap? Seriously, Kid#1 comes home one day, opens up her Dell and she's got 3 keys missing one of which is the Enter key - has no clue where they went. :D Also, the battery is lasting a full 20 minutes and the DVD drive is kaput. The damn thing creaks and moans more than my arthritic joints.
Now, the lowly white macbook looks like it's been used as a door mat (which I polished up for kid #2 in about 5 minutes) but it works flawlessly.
Really... don't rationalize the cost. Kids are tough on these things and you aren't always there to "learn 'em" how to handle them. A well built mac + Applecare is a pretty secure future for their learning experience.

Can someone give me some idea when the Apple Store Birmingham UK will get the new nano's in stock?
You could always call the store and ask... Might be quicker and more accurate than waiting for someone else from MR to answer.
Also some questions... (continued from my post on the previous page)
Is there anyway to get the new earbuds? The original buds do not fit my (small) ears, and I would like to try something new. Right now I'm using some Sony (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=4503996&st=headphones&lp=10&type=product&cp=2&id=1051806136350) over-the-head headphones.
Will there be a software update that will bring gapless playback and the other new features to the original nanos?
Will the original nano dock work with the new nanos?

I do understand ... very clearly
we do not need to cut corners on things like Helicopters by hanging onto ancient machines like the Sea King Helicopters or as they are known ..."flying coffins"
http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/cdnmilitary/seaking.html
You still have not answered the question. For what purpose does Canada need a larger military? Who is the threat?
Cheers,
Ahmed

EDIT: Holy crap, that was pretty convincing to a relative amateur like me. They seemed to basically do whatever they wanted to the system. Was there something underhanded here that I didn't catch that would make this unusable in reality, or is there valid concern based on this demo?
I haven't seen the video. But if the description of the vulnerability says "seize control" or "aribtrary code execution", it's the real thing. They can do whatever they want, although sometimes restricted by the privileges of the user that the compromised process is running as.
