ALPHA FEMALES WHO DON'T NEED A MAN!!!

In Hollywood, you get in and out of relationships so fast, that from the moment you find yourself in one, people are already anticipating when you'll break up. Though this is pretty negative thinking, it seems to be true most of the time. Females have made their own names in Hollywood without the help of a man by their side. These are women who have come out on top, after being heart broken by a man they once loved...

HALLE BERRY

After winning her Oscar for Best Actress performance in Monster's Ball in 2002, she shortly divorced from her husband Eric Benet who admitted he was a sex addict and had cheated on her while they were married. Halle Berry though still not married now has a beautiful daughter Nahla with ex-boyfriend/model Gabriel Aubry and is still a hot ticket to star in movies. Not to mention her body is insane and her face is flawless!

JENNIFER ANISTON

Though it seemed like her marriage with ex-husband Brad Pitt was a dream come true, men succumbed to temptation, when he left her for goddess Angelina Jolie. Since then, her career has skyrocketed! She's in many movies, and holds the title as America's Best Friend because not only is she down to earth, but she embodies independence. Jennifer has no problem getting a man for herself, but she's strong enough to hold her on and make it sexy to be a single, powerful woman. Her body is also amazing!

SANDRA BULLOCK

After winning the Oscar for Best Actress in The Blind Side in 2010, reports of husband Jesse James surged headlines when he cheated on Sandra with different "biker looking chicks with tattoos." So many mistresses decided to open up about their relationship with Jesse, that it was inevitable for Sandra to get a divorce. Known as "America's Sweetheart" she is at the top of her game in the Hollywood scene and dating around, rumors circulating with Ryan Reynolds. With one man gone from her life, she has adopted a black baby from New Orleans named Louis Bardo Bullock.

EVA LONGORIA

After 7 years of marriage to NBA star Tony Parker, divorce ensued. Though this marriage seemed like it was going to last, it became another casualty of Hollywood marriages not working out in the long haul, though this is longer than average. After claiming she found 100s of text messages between her husband and a wife of his former teammate Barry, she also admits to him cheating on her early in their marriage and kept in touch with that female via Facebook. Since her divorce, Eva is back on the Hot List looking stunning at every red carpet event, and is currently the face of the liquor Nuvo.

JESSICA BIEL

Recently splitting up with long time boyfriend Justin Timberlake, she is officially back on the market. Though her career in Hollywood has taken a back seat, she has definitely made it up in other areas. Not only does she do Revlon ads, but her body is definitely insane. Being known in Hollywood for a great body that is muscular, toned, and yet feminine at the same time makes this beauty a knock out. I know from this split, she will definitely upgrade in both career and man.

These females prove that they can and will survive without a man in their lives. Since their publicized breakups, they have ruled the Hollywood market with their talent and sex appeal. This example shows that women can be independent, strong, and beautiful at the same time. GIRL POWER!

The One-Drop Theory

As the fighting ensues over Academy Award winner actress Halle Berry and her model boyfriend Gabriel Aubrey about custody of their daughter Nahla, a new term has come into our vocabulary: ONE-DROP RULE.

The ONE DROP RULE is a term that classifies Black people according to their African ancestry. A person is considered black if they have "one drop" of blood in them or a history of African roots. In the 1900s, upper class black Americans would conduct a paper bag test to determine if a person was white enough to gain acceptance or admitance. For instance, if your color was darker than the paper bag, then you would not be accepted or admitted. So why has Halle Berry's custody battle now become a racial battle?

Halle Berry is mixed with black and white, but she identifies herself as black because of the "One-Drop" Theory. Since she is half black and her daughter Nahla who is 3/4 white and 1/4, Halle Berry still considers her daughter black because of this rule, but baby daddy Gabriel Aubry says his daughter is white.
No one can be quite sure what to believe in this story. From Halle Berry's side, sources say that Gabriel Aubry has said racial slurs toward Halle and that he is a racist. There is also word that daughter Nahla cries hysterically when she's in the custody of her father. On Gabriel's side, sources claim that Halle was violent and also verbally abused him over text messaging which he
will save for the trial.

But according to the "One-Drop Theory," why does Nahla be classified as white or black? She is a beautiful mixed child and her parents should proudly identify her as WHITE & BLACK, not either or. Though she is considered to be mixed more with white blood, she would be considered white, but when looking at Nahla, it is obvious she is mixed with black. Coming from a mixed racial heritage myself which is mainly 50% Mexican and 50% Filipino, I consider myself of both descents not one over the other.

Celebrity Trend: Getting Pregnant Before Marriage!

This is how it's supposed to be: first comes love...then comes marriage...then comes a baby in a baby carriage!!! But in Hollywood, that's a different story. This is how things roll in Hollywood: first comes love? (supposedly)...then comes baby...then comes...hmmm let's see: maybe marriage, NOT likely though, OR break-up.
A lot of celebrity women have the independence and bank account to be a single mother, and that sure is a likely scene in Hollywood. They see someone they want to have a child with, and if that relationship lasts then great! but it's no biggy if they break-up because...they can find another one.
Though it's great to see many independent women not need a man in their lives, I'm also wondering what other message this sends. Where has the sanctity of marriage go? When did this evolution of a woman's independence change suddenly? How has it become so acceptable to not marry the man who's also the baby daddy?
I have seen in this new age that having a baby when your young (Teen Mom) or when you're not married is becoming somewhat glamorized in the media. Not only are there special shows about young moms, but so many of them! MTV now has Teen Mom 2 and related shows such as 16 And Pregnant. What is the real meaning behind these reality shows? Isn't it supposed to be a warning amongst viewers that what we watch is NOT a life we should want to bestow upon ourselves? Then there's Hollywood that has beautiful women pregnant: Natalie Portman, Angelina Jolie, Nicole Ritchie, and Halle Berry. These women are successful and independent. Some are still with their baby daddy and others aren't.
Call me old fashioned but I'm all for love, marriage, and then baby. At least I know if this schedule didn't work out, I'll still be okay because it has become so acceptable ;)

Golden Globes Fashion Recap 2011

The Golden Globes were on last night, and nothing's better than tuning into the red carpet to see all the latest fashion trends. This year, the ladies wore an array of dresses. Most popular trend I noticed are wavy hair, fitted clothing, and a lot of color. Let's see some of the most memorable dresses of the night...
Natalie Portman: she indeed was glowing, but that Viktor & Rolf silk dress had a beautiful fresh color, but that red rose plastered on the middle of the dress immediately cheapened the look of the dress.
Julianne Moore: this hot pink Lanvin gown is beautiful with the jewel undertones, but that sleeve on the dress is unnecessary. It looks likes her arm should be in a sling.
Emma Stone: she surely has the looks and body to pull off this body hugging peach Calvin Klein dress, but this choice seemed too plain for her bubbly personality.
Catherine Zeta-Jones: she looked absolutely stunning in this emerald green Monique L'Hullier gown. Not only does this color stand out with its great structured tier design, but she truly looks like a Hollywood stunner.
Halle Berry: undeniably best body in Hollywood, this M&S corset black dress doesn't fit the formal occasion of the Golden Globes, but she is still a head turner.
January Jones: this blood red Versace gown is showstopping, and it looks amazing on her. It took a lot of balls to put out the cleavage during winter, but she definitely pulls it off.
Anne Hathaway: this is my favorite dress of the night! Take this Armani prive gown with its rose gold color, big shoulders (my fave) AND backless makes this combination a winner! She looked like the A-List superstar she truly is.
Eva Longoria: always looking elegant, especially in this hugging black Zac Posen dress, she knows how to pull off simplicity and glamorous at the same time.
Angelina Jolie: this emerald green Versace number looks stunning on the ever-stunning Angelina, finally we see that color is actually her best friend too! This long sleeved, fitted gown adorned with Swarovski crystals speaks for itself.
Christina Hendricks: this busty actress caught everyone's attention in this hugging one shouldered red Romona Keveza gown. Too bad the ruffle is a maybe overkill to the dress, hiding her beautiful face.
Sandra Bullock: wearing Jenny Packham, this jewel encrusted gown would've gathered more attention if it wasn't for Sandra's bangs causing the controversy. Her hair hides her beautiful face and bubbly personality that we all know and love.
Olivia Wilde: this embellished Marchesa gown was truly fit for a young princess like Olivia. Her low maintenance do looks like she's not trying too hard to impress, though she does.
Jennifer Lopez: wearing Zuhair Murah white gown with a jeweled shawl covering, she looks stunning, minus the dress. Though she's a mother, it's too matronly, and puts a lot of years to her fresh face and bomb physique.
Mila Kunis: this emerald green Vera Wang asymmetric gown is stunning on beauty Mila. It's very fresh and and young, something that screams simple elegance at its best.

2011 is off and running! Trends we can expect to see more on the red carpet are jewel tones such as emerald green and blood red. Another returning trend is the big shouldered look, with fitted sleeves, and low backs.
